“All I Need” is a Little Bit of Flowsik and Jessi!

“Awakening” to the Call of Music

Our boy, Flowsik, also known as Jay, is back at it again with a double treat for fans. The wait is over as the latest collab with the ever sexy Jessi brings not one, but two tracks for all the Jay and Jessi fans. Some people may recognize the name from his days as a member of the three-man group Aziatix that took the U.S. and Japan by storm in 2011 and was even awarded the “Best New Asian Artist Group” at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2011. In addition to Flowsik’s rap, Eddie would steal the show with his flowing locks and vocals along with Nicky covering vocal and some rap. A few of their well-known songs include “Go”, “Cold”, and “Slipping Away” and they were part of the Asian-American movement that helped bring artists of Asian backgrounds to the center stage in media in another wave post the Far East Movement era in Western media industry. Others may recall the name from Show Me The Money or his many collabs with artists such as Hash Swan, Microdot, Sik-K, PUNCHNELLO, and many more. Flowsik’s unique, deep voice and rap style are hard to miss and identifiable in any track you hear. With the release of two of his most recent singles, fans of Flowsik are excited to see what this new chapter of his musical journey will be like!

The Calling

After his departure from Aziatix, Flowsik released his debut single “The Calling” in 2015, which focused on his rapping in Korean before appearing in Show me the Money 5 in 2016. Since then he’s collaborated with numerous rappers, including Dok2 and The Quiett in their “Rapstar” remix.

On March 31, 2018 Flowsik released the long-awaited “All I Need” featuring Jessi. Avid followers of Jessi and Flowsik were waiting for this for a couple of months. The fans got snippets of different scenes of the music video from their Instagram stories, giving their fans an inside look. Unlike what many were expecting, the track featured both of the artists singing. If their rapping blows your mind, you have yet to discover the depth of talent that these artists have. Both known for their strong, deep rapping voices, their vocals blend beautifully together. Hinting on Instagram Live, Jessi is looking to focus more on her singing despite being better known as a rapper (be on the lookout for a HOT 2018 summer filled with Jessi’s vocals!). Her love of singing is evident throughout her music career and exposes pieces of her deep soulful voice such as in her “Excessive Love” released in 2016 or “Don’t Make Me Cry” released in 2017.

The release of “Wet” on April 4 took a complete 180 turn from “All I Need” and brought forth the waves of rap from both Flowsik and Jessi. If lyrics such as “I’m good when I’m good but I’m better when I’m badder” don’t win you over, the music video will. Reactions varied across the spectrum with many people across YouTube uploading their reaction videos. While Jay brought forth his A game, Jessi brought out her ssenunni in one hot track and stunning music video with scenes shot at the Paradise City Hotel & Resort in Incheon.

In The Near Future

With the last promotions on April 5 on M Countdown, Jay was surprised by Jessi and his team with a surprise birthday cake to celebrate his birthday and the success of their single tracks. Aside from promoting their current tracks, fans are looking forward to new releases coming from Jessi this summer with hope that she will release more singing tracks. Likewise, Flowsik hinted at an album coming out in May and an English version of “Higher Plane” which was an OST from the K-Drama Criminal Minds featuring Davichi. Additionally, keep a lookout for a potential collaboration between Flowsik and an American artist! Keep up to the action with The Kraze and follow the artists on their social media to stay in the loop!
