Stray Kids Aspire to Twinkle as a Bright Star
No matter how many times Stray Kids sing about self-doubts, Stays will always be there to assure them that they are the brightest stars in their night sky.
The new month is a new beginning and Stray Kids decided to walk along from day one of July by releasing a music video for "TMT." The song is one of the B-side tracks from their latest album, Cle'2: Yellow Wood, which had its release last month. While touring and promoting in various places, including the States, the nonet decided to film the summer style special video as a souvenir from Los Angeles. With no doubt, the video did make wonders by blessing the new month with encouragement.
The Single
The track begins with a peppy tune reminiscent of their brother track "Get Cool." Staying with the pace of the beat, Felix initiates the verse with his credited soaring vocals. Following the maknae rapper, the track gets heated up by the sprightly rap lines of Changbin and pitched vocals from Woojin. The hip-hop track co-composed and written by the act's producing sub-unit 3RACHA along with TIME and GRVVTIY follows the footsteps of their previous B-sides by dealing with the concepts of self-doubt and anxiety, standing in contrast to the lively music. Stray Kids, known for delivering heartfelt messages, once again convey a minefield of emotions for listeners to reflect on. The lyrics, "I want to be like the twinkling star," connect strongly and dwell deeply in every listener's heart as they give a whole new realization of the penned words.
As for the music video, Stray Kids did not compromise in giving the best while appealing to the viewer’s visual senses. The group, consisting of Bangchan, Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Felix, Han, Seungmin, and I.N, look like models in their casual street fashion wardrobes. Adding to the cool-looking kids, the bright blue sky, polished buildings, and the signature, tall palm trees of Los Angeles have all the richness that an official music video would need. As the song enters its later half, the video features a billboard in the end that says "Do what you wanna do," which magically becomes words of encouragement for facing the upcoming odds with confidence.
"TMT" is definitely a song that can soothe both listeners’ hearts and ears. With meaningful delivery of music and work, the members of Stray Kids become companions more than idols to every struggling individual, making them an appropriate act to be called the stars of the current generation.
