IN2IT Abandons Darkness in “Run Away”
The season of hot summer releases continues as IN2IT make their return with a digital single.
“Run Away” marks the sextet’s (excluding Sunghyun, who recently participated in Produce 101) first comeback of 2019 after their disco-pop release “Sorry For My English” in 2018. After creating a strong base for IN2Us around the world, including the shores of India, by holding IN2ITXION during April, the act is ready to score with their latest release.
The Single
As a grand start, the single begins with a cinematic introduction with guitar riffs and heavy drum beats, leading us to the soothing verses by the vocalists. The track soon shifts into a heavy beat as Yeontae and Inho take over during the chorus. With different patterns aligned for the verses, the track sounds more like an electro-beat camouflaged in a rock genre. Unlike the usual heavy metals, the electro music embossed on the distinguished vocals and rap verses of the act shape the melody. As an advantage, the members explore their positions by switching from vocals to rap and vice-versa. Similar to the feel of the music, the lyrics sing about breaking through the tough times to see the light. During the run, the main character wants their loved one to accompany them, as he vows to protect them and reach a place of happiness and togetherness. Adding up, the chorus lines “Run away” keep our hearts pumped up due to the repetitive emphasis. The climax is well paced, crowning the track with rapid rap lines shared by Hyunuk and Jihan as a rising notion before the fall.
The Music Video
The peppy sextet unravels into a darker concept for the first time, with black dominating the music video theme. As the video begins, the members are found trapped in a dark place, frustrated and uneasy. The members give a murky, yet daring visual as flashes of lights enhance their features. As an example of simplicity, the video captures the charms of the sextet without pouring much focus on properties and backdrops. Dressed in black, Inpyo, Inho, Jihan, Yeontae, Isaac, and Hyunuk try to find light symbolizing freedom. Upon reaching a door, the tension and confusion prevails as the members contemplate whether to open the door or not. After making a decision, they make their way out of the “PP SV Team” marked building, changing the ambience into a bright one under the beaming sun. As for the choreography, the act skillfully stage poised postures and compressed dance moves.
With “Run Away,” IN2IT has proved to be an act of variety, prepping the K-World to expect more from them in the near future.
