MCND Gets Animated in Hot Summer Single “ADDD”

After tackling the winter and spring seasons with “Ice Age” and “Spring,” MCND now has a track dedicated to the summer: “ADDD.” Released on August 8, “ADDD” is a silly summer song matched with a creative music video. The single also comes with the B-side “Campfire,” which complements the title track.

Tracklist:

  1. “ADDD”

  2. “Campfire”

“ADDD”

Written, composed, and arranged by Kass, “ADDD” is a comedic summer track. Its Korean title, “아뜨뜨뜨,” translates to “hot.” The song talks about “burning up” with overwhelming emotions around someone.*

South Korean animation and music YouTuber Red Pajama Yaco (빨간내복야코) created the animation for “ADDD.” For their channel, Red Pajama Yaco composes, writes, and arranges silly songs that they set to their animations. They use existing characters from their work to illustrate the message of “ADDD.” The music video shows the characters trying to avoid the sun’s rays. Though the video is short, MCND’s M!COUNTDOWN stage showcases the full song and choreography.

“Campfire”

The single’s B-side, “Campfire,” is a hip-hop and trap track. It uses a pan flute in its instrumental, one composed by Papi Lee, Marty James, and Jisoo Park (also known as Korean American artist NIve). The song leans into MCND’s hip-hop specialty. Through “ADDD” and “Campfire,” listeners get both sides of MCND’s strengths.
