B-Sides: Hot Stuff

Many K-Pop tracks bring fire to the K-music scene through their sound or their name. The tracks below succeeded this through both their sound and name, being some of the hottest B-side tracks we could ever listen to. So, take a listen and feel the heat as you become enticed by the warmth and hot energy of these songs and their artists.

“마음에 불을 지펴 (Light a Flame)” - SEVENTEEN

Composed of members Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, and Woozi, the ‘96z line of SEVENTEEN deliver strong, silky vocals in the groups single “마음에 불을 지펴 (Light a Flame).” The fourth track from SEVENTEEN's 2020 special album ; [Semicolon], “마음에 불을 지펴 (Light a Flame)” plays with a smooth, Latin-inspired beat complete with brass instruments that make the track standout amongst SEVENTEEN’s discography. The instrumentation mixed with the sensualness of the vocal delivery and the song’s lyrics create a sexy, jazz atmosphere that captures the magic of SEVENTEEN's fearless approach to their music.

“Fire in the belly” - LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM closed their 2023 first studio album UNFORGIVEN with “Fire in the belly,” bringing a Latin urbano festival to our ears. This track delivers a feel-good energy that makes you want to party as you listen to the tropical vibes of the track, especially with the inclusion of “olé, olé, olé, olé” in the lyrics that add to the song's anthemic, cheerful nature. I can only imagine how incredible this track must be to hear live and the reception it must get from the audience regardless of whether they are a FEARNOT (LE SSERAFIM’s fandom) or a casual or new K-Pop listener.

“INFERNO” - KARD

From their fourth mini-album RED MOON, the two rap members of KARD raised the bar for the K-Pop rap scene, with their hard-hitting, vocally-aggressive (in the best way) rap track "INFERNO." Performed by B.M and J.seph. the powerhouse rap duo “make it burn” and “light this place on fire” in “INFERNO” with their addictive rap style approach and lyrics. With a duration of just two minutes and twelve seconds, “INFERNO” leaves you wanting more, making the listener want to hear more from B.M and J.seph in this style of rap.

“Burn” - I.M

I.M showcased a new side to his artistry with the release of his first solo album, DUALITY, in 2021. This album gave us the compelling single “Burn” that ignites a sensual yet moody aura through I.M's hypnotically mellow vocals. Through “Burn,” I.M's vocal style allows the listener to relax and feel at ease whilst simultaneously allowing them to dive deep into the emotions and feelings he is projecting through his voice and the song’s lyrics. The track carries an alluring charm that I.M continues to express through each song within his solo discography.
