Favorite Song: SUNMI - “Siren”

It’s femme, it’s sexy, it’s exciting, it’s Sunmi. The slightly retro dance track actually had me off my seat dancing along to my current favorite soloist. Sunmi’s track seems almost incomplete without its accompanying choreography, but “Siren” still stands strong on its own. If I ever go to a club, “Siren” is a most definite request I’d make to the DJ.

Favorite Music Video: Dreamcatcher - “What”

Dreamcatcher never disappoints when it comes to visually beautiful music videos. “What” is by far my favorite music video by the girl group. While watching, I even forgot about having to listen to the song for a brief second. While I could pass on their angst, I would die for all of their outfits and dance moves. It definitely remains on the dark side, much like the group’s previous releases. While it’s not their strongest, it was one of the more exciting and unique releases of the month.

Favorite Music Show Performance: BTS - “IDOL” at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

The Tonight Show is my absolute favorite late night show. Both my mother and I are unhealthily obsessed with Jimmy Fallon. Expectations for BTS’s interview and performance were at an all-time high. Not only was I incredibly full of joy watching them have fun with Jimmy (or should I say…Chimmy) playing the Fortnite Challenge and answering insightful questions, but I was also thrilled to see their performance. The camera work was beautiful, steady, and simple, much like their performance. I am constantly praising performances that are choreography heavy and don’t rely on gimmick, but BTS on Jimmy Fallon takes the ultimate prize on simplistic perfection. I could watch it all day.
