B-Sides Halloween Special 2

One of the most beloved holidays, Halloween, is just around the corner! We don’t often get creepy, Halloween-themed music videos from our favorite K-Pop stars, but there definitely are a few classics to throw it back to!

“Peek-A-Boo” - Red Velvet

Last year, Red Velvet released “Peek-A-Boo” right after the Halloween season but kept true to the creepy vibe with their intimidating and mysterious auras—not unlike the famous hallway twins in The Shining. While the song itself doesn’t give off any sort of indication of horror, the aesthetics in the video include unsettling behavior toward a pizza delivery man, which eventually allude to his demise come the end of the video. Not what we expect from our girls, but a well-executed treat nonetheless!

“Like Ooh-Ahh” - TWICE

While “TT” would be an obvious choice here, let us not forget that TWICE’s debut track “Like Ohh-Ahh” featured a wave of zombies! As a debut concept it’s definitely a bold move; it’s not only unexpected but also totally unique. The zombie apocalypse is done very well visually, giving off vibes of horror games like Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil.

“Wolf” - EXO

EXO’s “Wolf” is still a point of debate among EXO-Ls, with some fans loving the concept and others hating it, but we are in the former crowd. Regardless of your personal opinion, “Wolf” gave us a concept of the boys as werewolves—a perfect theme for the Halloween season. And let’s face it, the song is pretty catchy, too.

“Jackpot” - Block B

It wouldn’t be the scariest season of the year without everyone’s ultimate fear: clowns. Block B’s “Jackpot” has a creepy funhouse concept that is more disturbing than it is truly scary. The circus/carnival theme adds a new level of unsettling to our previous choices, and though it may not have a totally scary theme, there are enough freaky elements to have it fit well with Halloween.

“Witch” - BOYFRIEND

One of our favorite classics for Halloween comes from Starship Entertainment’s veteran boy group BOYFRIEND and their hit track “Witch.” The music video features the members as a clan of vampires fighting against being discovered by hunters. BOYFRIEND is known for their intense and theatrical concepts, and “Witch” is definitely one of the best they’ve pulled off to date. The track is always a treat to revisit every Halloween.
