Peek Into CHEEZE’s Life in “Everything To”
CHEEZE continues her reign as most adorable person on this planet.
The indie singer dropped “Everything To” on October 5—a sweet little surprise for fans. CHEEZE, whose real name is Im Hyekyung and who also goes by Dalchong, shared snippets of her recent Japan trip through the music video, which is entirely shot from a cell phone.
It’s an intimate video she chose to share with the world. Rather than showcasing large tourist attractions, we see her wander through stores, crossing the street, and walking by the water, just to name a few things. The simplicity of the video contrasts most Korean music videos today, but the behind-the-scenes feel is refreshing to see, reminding us that Korean artists are still normal people.
“Everything To” additionally captures the wanderlust that one feels when watching the video. Dalchong’s soothing voice has that IU effect that effortlessly elevates any melody. It’s always a treat to hear her unique tone, which complements the electric guitar and soft percussion. She hits some really interesting notes you wouldn’t expect in this deceivingly simple song. The twinkling in the background also adds a pleasant, uplifting element.
Although the track is less than three minutes long, “Everything To” is the perfect length. Hopefully this means that we’ll receive a full-length album from CHEEZE in the near future.
