Essentials for Acne-Prone Skin
Now that the weather is starting to get warmer, people tend to get more acne and pigmentation due to long exposure to the sun and formulation of oil sebum. Pimples are formed when your pores are clogged with sebum, oil, and maybe even bacteria. The best ingredients for treating acne can include: Alpha-hydroxy Acid (AHA), Salicylic Acid, Centella, and Tea Tree Oil. My two favorite brands for treating my own acne as well as recommending to friends is COSRx and Medicube. Therefore, I will recommend products from these two brands that I find are most effective in treating acne and pigmentation.
COSRx
COSRx is my favorite brand of all time! Once I added some of their products to my daily skincare routine, I have had clear skin ever since. Their products are formulated with ingredients that will treat your skin in the best way and minimize the harmful ingredients that will damage your skin. The most important part, COSRx has products for every skin type! (I swear this is not sponsored, I just love their products a lot.)
Acne Master Pimple Patches
First, the Acne Master Pimple Patches, which come in different sizes, are used by placing the circle patch onto the area of concern (usually a pimple). Never pop a pimple! Once a pimple is popped, it is more likely for an acne scar to form. Through placing the circle patch on the pimple, it sucks in the pus, so the acne can heal naturally. I know it’s tempting to pop a pimple, but if you keep this patch on during the day and night, then you won’t feel urged to touch it. COSRx even came out with a thinner version of the patch, so you can wear it under makeup.
Clear Fit Blemish Cushion
The Clear Fit Blemish Cushion is perfect for those makeup gurus who are afraid of the effects of makeup on their troubled skin. This cushion contains ingredients to treat and soothe your troubled skin such as centella asiatica. The coverage of this product is absolutely amazing with minimal use of the product. Other ingredients include sun protection (SPF), and niacinamide & adenosine for anti-aging and skin-healing effects. The packaging is also very unique compared to other cushions on the market. I use this cushion on a daily basis because of its lightweight formula and amazing coverage, so you should check it out too!
Centella Blemish Cream
The Centella Blemish Cream is considered a spot treatment cream which means that you don’t apply the cream all over the face like a moisturizer, but you only apply the product to the troubled areas. I recommended this product to my friend and she applied it on the troubled areas on her face every day for about a year. Her acne scars began to fade and she had less acne on her face. This product contains zinc oxide and centella asiatica leaf water to soothe and heal acne and acne scars.
Medicube
Medicube is made for specifically targeting common skin concerns through researching the effects of various ingredients on different skin types. There are different lines made specifically for one main concern. The Red Line focuses on non-irritating products for acne-prone skin.
Centella Asiatica Ointment
The Centella Asiatica Ointment is also considered a spot treatment cream which is used to heal and fade acne scars and pigmentation as well as improve skin’s texture. The ointment absorbs into your skin very quickly and feels exactly like cream. The main ingredient is centella asiatica which is mainly used to heal damaged skin and improve the overall appearance of your skin.
These are only some products that can be used for people with acne-prone skin, but they may not work with your skin type. There are many other acne-prone products that provide really good results and may fit your skin type even better, so keep looking and trying new products. COSRx and Medicube also have many other products, but I chose these products because I have experience with them, so don’t be afraid to test them out!
