Triple H Brings The Funk in REtro Futurism
Triple H is back, treating fans to another hot release. Their latest single, REtro Futurism, offers three brand new tracks (and a instrumental track for their main track) along with a sizzling music video that heats things up for the summer. This particular album is heavily influenced by 80s and 90s funk that is sure to get fans grooving to all the songs.
“Retro Future”
Triple H is once again pushing the envelope as they bring another sexy, daring, and jaw-dropping music video. This unit group is not afraid to showcase themes of partying and sexuality, tastefully adding to the heat of it all. The music video takes on their own version of the thriller movie, The Purge, as the Triple H members wreak havoc (the good kind) by coming over to a rather plain, simple couple. Triple H brings energy and fun into this couple’s life, giving them a chance to explore different types of experiences and feelings.
The song itself has a disco funk vibe with hints of rock sprinkled throughout. It is very similar to their previous and debut release, “3.6.5 Fresh” as it sticks to the retro theme. This would be a song that would fit and complement Bruno Mars’s 24K Magic album thanks to its similar retro feel and sound.
The rest of the single follows through with the party/retro concept. “Feel” is a song that is meant for partying with friends and letting loose. Once this particular song comes on, it’s impossible to not rush to the dance floor. “Show Me” is true to the late 80s/90s sound as it too has a funky beat that makes for the perfect type of song to play while going for a cruise.
With such a fun single, it’s a shame that we don’t have more songs from the project group. Triple H will definitely have heads turning and people talking about their latest release with its more mature and bold themes. HyunA, Hui and E’Dawn prove to be a trio with great chemistry and we look forward to seeing what these three have to offer in a future release and hope that it’ll be more than just a single. REtro Futurism is a great listen for this summer and one that you won’t regret adding to your music library.
