IMFACT is Back with a New Concept in “NANANA”
A group that constantly tries different concepts, IMFACT is back again after four months with the single titled “NANANA.” The song and music video were released August 16.
The music video opens with the skyline of Seoul as a train passes by on a bridge. At the same time, the title of the song and the names of the members are written in yellow in the video. The locations change a lot throughout the music video, from being by the train tracks, out in the streets, staircases, and many other locations. We see the boys standing together or running through dark alleys. Scenes changing rapidly between day and night and even sunset adds another element to the video as well.
The video is filmed from many different angles, always keeping it fresh and interesting. Editing is fast paced and shows something new happening every second of the music video, with cinematography alternating between slow motion and real-time clips. There is no performance of choreography in the video, but a couple of scenes where the members sing or rap their part of the song.
The song starts slow with rapper Ungjae singing, followed by the clear vocals of Jeup and then Lee Sang. There is no hiding that Ungjae is the member who gets to shine the most in this release. The melody keeps building up towards the chorus before introducing us to the chill but groovy and catchy beat of the chorus.
The sound is different from what the group has done before and the melody has many interesting surprises throughout the song. It proves that once again, IMFACT manages to suit and fit into another concept. It is a love song and the lyrics talk about them being nothing without the one they love, not wanting to be apart from each other.
Like the previous release by the group as well as the three parts of IMFACTORY, this is only a single release and not a mini-album or anything more than just one song; for now, fans can only hope that maybe in the future these songs will be featured in a repackaged album.
