15&’s Jimin Shows Off a New Side With “April Fools (0401)”

15&’s Park Jimin has officially returned after two years! She released the album jiminxjamie—her Korean name and also the name she was known for in Thailand. This album exposes different sides of Jimin through various concepts and tracks.

The title track, “April Fools (0401)” is a sexy pop track that expresses hatred as she realizes she shouldn’t fall for someone who only lies and she shouldn’t let him back into her life. In the music video, Jimin is seen accidentally murdering her lover and playing around with his body—just like how he played with her heart.

“뭐니 (What)” is an upbeat pop track that shows off Jimin’s rap skills with her charismatic voice. It also features the rapper OLNL. The song is about not being sure whether the person you are dating likes you or not. “하나 빼기 둘 (Count You Out)” is a another pop track with a prominent piano background that is perfect if you just want to listen to some groovy music. The song will eventually get you to dance due to its catchy and upbeat chorus.

“전화받아 (Pick Up The Phone)” features PENTAGON’s 키노 (KINO), WOODZ, and 네이슨 (NATHAN), and is a hip-hop track with an amazing beat that perfectly matches Jimin’s vocals. The song brings back memories from when Jimin was in the makeshift group M.O.L.A., although SEVENTEEN’s Vernon and UNIQ’s Seungyeon are absent. “별 (Star)” is a personal favorite on the album; her vocals are able to fully shine through this track. It has a sad vibe because it’s about wanting to be comforted after parting ways with someone.
