Light a Candle for NCT DREAM’s New Song

The Station song “Candle Light” by NCT Dream was released at the final stage of 2018, December 27, making this the last release of an NCT unit last year, which was filled with so many songs and album releases by the group.

“Candle Light” is a slow pop song with cute lyrics that are up for discussion— whether it’s a love song or a song to thank the NCTzens for their time together, which would fit the theme of the music video. It is not a Christmas song, but it still carries a little bit of a Christmas vibe in the melody.

The music video has warm- and sepia-toned colors, and it shows the group directing their music video before the premier at the end of the video. It starts with Mark as the director and Jisung as his assistant, planning the video before they start filming Jeno and Jaemin’s scene. The music video is fun and filled with “bloopers” from when NCT is trying to make their music video.

The group looks back on the different eras they have been a part of since the debut of the Dream unit through this music video. Props that are used represent a different era of the group. The mini car represents “My First And Last,” the balloon “We Go Up,” the chewing gum stuck to Jisung’s shoe represents “Chewing Gum,” and the basketball represents “Dunk Shot.” It is also speculated that the reason why Mark does not have a scene in the music video they are making is because of his graduation from the unit. However, he is always seen backstage directing the video.

It was a good end to a year that was filled with albums and singles released by NCT. We can’t wait to see what’s next for the forever growing SM Entertainment group in 2019. What has been your favorite NCT release this year? Let us know in the comments!
