Favorite Music Video: Stray Kids - “MIROH”

Stray Kids are giving me a Brave New World, the French Revolution, Hunger Games, dystopian fiction galore and I am living for it! Let’s just throw it out there before anything else, “MIROH” is perfect from beginning to end. The song reinvents itself through its duration and its accompanying music video does it justice. Stray Kids has been taking over the theory-making fans these past few months with their storyline filled concepts, from their name to their music and music videos. “MIROH” was a perfect addition to that plot, showing that these stray kids aren’t here just to sit back in the midst of totalitarianism. Bravo, Stray Kids, a better revolution than most of the teen-novels-turned-movies we see on the big screens.

Favorite Song: Block B BASTARZ - “Help Me”

Can’t even lie, this is a completely biased choice. Block B has been instrumental in me loving K-Pop and this BASTARZ comeback really did it for me; I am all in for the sub-unit. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy their previous releases, just not enough to not be bittersweet about not seeing my favorite group all together. “Help Me” is a completely new sound that we haven’t heard from BASTARZ or Block B before, giving this sub-unit comeback a fresh start that is just so right. P.O.’s rap verses perfectly align with U-Kwon’s and B-Bomb’s vocals in a fun track that will have you bobbing your head along and constantly surprised by its progression. Beware of the music video, though, it is not for the weak hearted and those sensitive to blood.

Favorite Music Show Performance: PENTAGON “Sha La La” for M!Countdown

I am obsessed with just about anything PENTAGON does live. Even though I was familiar with the group before, the first time I actually sat through an entire PENTAGON performance or even song for that matter, was during their set at KCON 2018, and boy was I impressed! Their energy onstage is so positively overwhelming that it just gets everyone up on their feet dancing along. “Sha La La” is far from being one of their more exciting songs or a favorite for me, but they remain my favorite large K-Pop group to choreograph energetic numbers that work with their large number of members. Always in sync and always making great use of all of their members, “Sha La La” stole the show for me this past month!
