Guide to Surviving this Year’s Music Festivals

It’s that time of year again, the time to enjoy all of the music festivals! Music festivals require you to be outside in the sun all day long—dancing and singing with people from day to night. Here are some tips for keeping your makeup flawless while maintaining your skin’s complexion at the same time. In addition, we have some ideas to make your makeup stand out and perfectly match your outfits.

Protect the Skin from the Sun All Day

The most important part in keeping your skin flawless all weekend is through applying sunscreen, not only when you are doing your makeup in the morning, but throughout the day as well. Making sure that your products include SPF is a way to ensure that your skin is fully protected from the harsh UV rays. Touching up your makeup throughout the day with a product that includes SPF makes sure that your makeup looks flawless while being protected. Another way to reapply sunscreen throughout the day is through using a sunscreen mist; you can keep your skin moisturized while creating a sun-kissed look. Some recommended sunscreen products are: Colorescience’s Sunforgettable Loose Mineral Brush Broad Spectrum and 3CE’s Boosting Sun Mist.

Glitter, Sparkles, Jewels!

The best way to spice up your makeup is through adding glitter, sparkles, and even jewels onto your face. Through applying jewels to your face, you’ll add an extra sparkle and glow which definitely makes you stand out. For eyeshadow, using a cream-based glitter eyeshadow can make your eyes sparkle when you blink, while ensuring that your makeup stays on. Also, making sure to apply highlighter and pearl-based products allows your skin to shimmer against the sun, since you will be outside all day. A tip for applying jewels is to use eyelash glue to apply them, so that they stay in place. Some shimmer products that are recommended are: Moonshot’s Jelly Pot (Glitter), and VDL’s Lumilayer All Over Stick.

Setting the Makeup Perfectly

When doing your makeup, you have to make sure to set it all in place after you are done. By doing this, your makeup will be able to last longer and stay vibrant from day to night. First, you have to set your foundation and face products through using a setting powder. Another important tip for making sure your makeup stays in place is using cream-based products compared to powder-based products, which allows your makeup to stick to your skin better. Lastly, you have to make sure to set all of the makeup in place with the perfect setting mist. Some setting products that I recommend are: Etude House’s FIX&FIX Mist Fixer and EGLIPS’ Blur Powder Pact.
