Summer is just around the corner which means it’s time to prepare for road trips with your friends and dance parties that last until dawn! This week’s Throwback Thursdays is here to get you ready for the high-energy days of summer by providing you with some of the best hype tracks in the K-Pop industry. Check out our music recs below and get ready to party!
“GO CRAZY!(미친거 아니야?)” - 2PM
2PM couldn’t get any more straightforward with a hype song than 2014’s “GO CRAZY!” Off their fourth full album of the same name, this song is a perfect fit for any party playlist. Between its not-so-subtle disco vibes and fun choreography, “GO CRAZY!” will have you up on your feet in an instant.
“BANG!” - After School
In 2011, After School brought us the ever-exciting “BANG!” and proved that the best way to electrify any song is to add a drumline. The song is no doubt a power anthem, with the girls’ vocals offering just as much energy as the intense drum beats, especially Raina’s high note around the 2:30 mark. We dare you to say you don’t feel empowered after listening to this song.
“Super Fly” - 24K
24K’s “Super Fly” is a positively iconic hype song in K-Pop. With its incredible build and unmatched beat drop, this song is high-energy from start to finish. The track served as the title off their 2015 mini-album, also titled Super Fly. At the time, this was the group’s first comeback in two years and with a song as striking as “Super Fly,” it’s safe to say 24K came back with a literal bang.
“Dancing King” - Yoo Jaeseok and EXO
2016 brought us the ultimate hype collab between comedian Yoo Jaeseok and EXO in the form of “Dancing King.” Released as part of SM Station, the comedian teamed up with the iconic boy group on the song for the show Infinite Challenge. Aside from being the perfect dance track—with a title like “Dancing King,” is anyone surprised?—the music video for the song is particularly endearing with Yoo Jaeseok learning the choreography right alongside EXO.
