Past October B-Sides

With October 2020 finally starting and the world excited for Halloween, fall weather, and pumpkin-flavored everything, The Kraze thought it might be nice to look back at some of the wonderful B-Side tracks that idols have given us in the month of October.

“NOT TODAY” by CHEETAH

On October 25, 2016, CHEETAH released her single “NOT TODAY.” This R&B track with a pop twist is all about living each day to the fullest and enjoying the ride without the fear of being judged. CHEETAH expresses that she wishes for everybody to ignore her celebrity status and treat her as an equal and friend, stating, “If you run into me, don’t act like you know me. Rather than your noona or unnie, I like to be friends right away.”

“NO THANXXX” by Epik High ft. MINO, Simon Dominic & The Quiett

Epik High released We’ve Done Something Wonderful on October 23, 2017. B-Side track “NO THANXXX” features rappers Simon Dominic, The Quiett, and YG Entertainment labelmate MINO, each rapper declaring that the words of critics don’t faze them and people shouldn’t waste their time worrying about them. This sentiment is obvious in the chorus, with Tablo saying, “You get one life. Don’t waste it on me. Can I live my life? Let me live it how I wanna. Worrying about me? No thanks.” Warning: if you’re not a fan of cussing, feel free to skip this track.

“YELLOW” by Lee Hongki

Lee Hongki is known for being the lead singer of K-Rock group FTISLAND, but on October 18, 2018, he released his second solo album DO n DO featuring B-Side “YELLOW.” The track starts out as a soft and slow ballad before the chorus takes off. Hongki’s vocals are beautiful, soaring and taking the spotlight over the backing instruments. If you’re in the mood for feeling like you’re in a K-Drama, this track is for you.

“Late Autumn” by HEIZE Ft. Crush

On October 13, 2019, HEIZE released her mini-album 만추 (Late Autumn) and B-Side track  “Late Autumn” featuring K-R&B singer Crush. “You are doin’ good before it gets too cold,” HEIZE sings, relating the ending of feelings to the coldness of late autumn, when the weather grows colder and the sky gets darker as winter arrives. It’s a sad reminder that sometimes even when relationships seem so bright and full of life, they can wither and fade away just like the leaves.
