Ailee Takes Over The Ballroom in High Heels & Glam
One of Korea’s best vocalists has made her return to music. With a brand new full-length album and new label, Ailee has released her new song, “가르치지마 (Don’t Teach Me)” from AMY. The new album features tracks from her latest mini-album, LOVIN’.
“가르치지마 (Don’t Teach Me)” was co-written by Ravi of VIXX, who is the CEO of record label GROOVL1N and THE L1VE, where Ailee is currently signed to. The track can be best described as a signature Ailee song. A beautiful mix of jazz and soul, and covered with pop melodies, Ailee sings to her ex and all the men who wish to have a chance at love with her to treat her like the queen she is. As a powerful vocalist, we also witness her vocal runs and high notes in the song. The music video is much like the concept photos and the album cover, filled with glitter and glamour. The video finds Ailee walking into a ballroom as she attends a masquerade ball, where the masks are oddly similar to the ones found in the sensational drama, Squid Game. Ailee also performs stunning choreography wearing beautiful outfits.
Many tracks on the album were co-written by Ailee herself, and several other composers and producers also worked on the album, including singer-songwriter and former SISTAR member Hyolyn on the song “New Ego.” Among the album’s B-sides, some of the highlights include “#MCM (Man Crush Monday)” and “My Lips.” Alongside the already released tracks from the previous album, must-listens include “Beautiful Disaster.”
With her new management, fans can already see improvement in her promotion, returning back to doing music show programs. This is evident by the success of her OST from Doom At Your Service and the credits of popular producers on her new album. Check out the glamorous music video for “가르치지마 (Don’t Teach Me)” below!
