Mark Tuan is on His “Last Breath” With Latest Single

It’s been quite the year for the GOT7 member and soloist. Mark Tuan is back once again with a new single titled “Last Breath.” While “One in a Million” was all about finding the “one” and falling in love with that person, “Last Breath” is all about wanting to escape the toxic experiences of his current relationship.

At first it seemed like everything was good and fine but over time, Mark details how suffocating and unbearable it is to continue on in this relationship. It’s only when he is alone that he feels like he is able to have some peace and have that space to breathe, as this toxic and evil lover of his is trying to control every aspect of his life and is breathing down his neck. “Last Breath” expresses a lot of anger and frustration throughout the song, and the expression of wanting to break free is evident. Mark knows that this person is ready to take every last thing, to the point of his last breath. Although he’s tried his best and tried to make it work, it’s over and done and he no longer wants to be held down and held captive to this terrible and painful situation.

The music video for “Last Breath” features Mark located somewhere in the middle of a desert, trying to make his escape and be free of his soon-to-be former lover. Oftentimes he becomes lethargic and unmotivated but then the anger seeps through, because he can’t take it any more. The music video also has this hazy and stuffy quality to it, as Mark is also seen in rooms where it’s rather dark and the windows are closed, dusty from the desert sand that flies around when he’s either driving or kicking at the sand. Towards the end of the video, it showcases Mark surfacing from a full bathtub, taking in air that further shows how much he really can’t stand to be in the situation that he is in.

“Last Breath” conveys strong emotions and Mark is not afraid to showcase a more vulnerable side to his craft. While the lyrics are deep and cutting, the song is still catchy and easy to vibe with. In all, Mark delivers a well-done single that is another great addition to his growing library. Mark has hinted on social media that there is more to come and we can anticipate that he’s ready to unveil more sides to him that we haven’t seen just yet.
