Shake off the BLUEs with LUCY

LUCY has a unique style that often projects a sentimentality, reminding us to live here and now. There are recurring themes in their title tracks of cherishing youth and living with a certain optimism, and this streak continues with their newest single album, BLUE.

Title track “떼굴떼굴 (Rolling Rolling)” is a pop-rock song that opens on a high note, as they often do; LUCY's sound is so uplifting that the meaning of the lyrics isn't even really necessary to pick up what they're putting down. But, in this particular case, the lyrics shed some light on how growing up gets lonely, and it's common to find yourself trapped in a rigid routine while pursuing stability—perhaps forgetting to pursue happiness along the way.

"Somehow the sun has already set / And I don't even know / What day it is today"

The music video follows a few weary young people, bogged down by the all-too-familiar feeling of days passing without enough time for anything but work. They each recall moments in childhood, doing what made them happiest—when they couldn't wait for the next day to come—while, now "I just think about how much I can sleep tonight." By the end of the video, they rediscover what's important to them, and the message is so simple it's easy to ignore: take care of yourself, but never at your own expense.
