LUCY Guides Listeners INSIDE for Warmth in Winter Single
In their first release of the new year, LUCY continues the saga of seasonal-theme singles. Titled INSIDE, LUCY treats listeners to three brand new songs that bring warmth during this cold season. With these new songs, LUCY paints a whimsical and magical journey with INSIDE.
Tracklist:
“HERO”
“Shove”
“OUTRO”
“HERO”
As the lead track for the single, “HERO” is a cheery and vibrant song that sweeps listeners off their feet. The song speaks to the listener, saying that although in reality they have no superpowers or special abilities, they still feel like the hero of the story. “You” are the listener they reference throughout the song and when together with fans, they feel empowered thanks to their presence and encouragement. Even during the lowest of lows, knowing that “you” are there, LUCY is ready to give the world to them. For those who are avid anime watchers or play story-based roleplaying games, “HERO” perfectly channels a classic opening intro, or it could stand as a main theme for a show/game, thanks to its light-hearted sound and style. There is a fantasy-like quality of the song that is sure to bring a smile to many faces as they listen to the song that easily transports one into a different world.
In lieu of a full winter theme, the music video for “HERO” features the members discovering a wilted flower in the snow, and in order to save it, they bring it on board their spaceship. The precious flower then takes center stage in the middle of the control room as the members figure out their way back into space. At one point in the music video, all seems lost and things start to go sideways, but with the power and magic of the flower on their side, they find their wits again and are able to make it to space. The flower may also be a representation of the “you” they refer to throughout the song, adding further visual to how, despite the LUCY members’ lack of superpowers, it’s thanks to “you” that they are able to thrive. While the music video does not have a heavy storyline, it is a refreshing experience to say the least, with both song and music video leaving fans feeling ready to greet spring.
To further add, “Stove” is the ballad track of the album, which is a bit longer compared to its sibling track, “HERO.” For those who like something that lets the instruments take center stage, “Stove” is the track to get lost in and keep on repeat for days to come. The final track, “OUTRO,” is solely focused on the instrumentals of each member. “OUTRO” will take listeners on a journey through sounds ranging from happy and melodic to a little more somber and dark, giving listeners the chance to further experience a story similar to what one would find in a fantasy-themed show/anime or video game. LUCY does not disappoint, delivering a great album from beginning to end. INSIDE is an album for all ages to relate and listen to and is a highly recommended listen.
