Rising Star DEMIAN Paints the City Blue on New Single, “LOVE%”
After landing in Spotify’s K-Pop Daebak playlist, DEMIAN stepped into the spotlight with his sleeper hit single, “Cassette.” DEMIAN was credited by many publications as the rookie soloist to look out for in 2021. The singer-songwriter is back with his new single album, A Blue Not Blues, featuring two songs including the title track, “LOVE%” featuring rapper DAWN of PNation.
“LOVE%” sees a shift in style for DEMIAN who has so far relied on his beautiful vocals paired with an R&B and soul sound. This new track is an urban-pop song with gritty production. DEMIAN once again delivers the song with his soft vocals. Co-written by the two artists, the song talks about a calculated beginning of a relationship evident in lyrics that refer to percentages. In the song, DEMIAN uses blue as a metaphor for sadness, saying he is a person who dwells in the blue but constantly hopes for a possibility to be happy. The color blue is the primary color scheme used in the music video and photoshoots. The music video finds DEMIAN stuck in a hallway only able to peek into the room through a peephole. The video also features a talented tap dancer amplifying the song’s hard-hitting urban production.
The single is supported by the beautiful piano ballad “One More Night,” an all-English track written entirely by DEMIAN. While the song is about a painful break-up, DEMIAN infuses the track with the warmth of his voice. With critical praise and a gradually growing fanbase, DEMIAN is en-route to becoming a major figure in the Korean R&B-pop scene. Watch the music video for “LOVE%” ft. DAWN below!
