Get Cozy with Suran and a Warm “Blanket”

Suran has returned! In her latest single “Blanket” featuring Wonstein, Suran takes listeners on a warm and cozy adventure in a song that is all about staying home. Despite being in the dead of summer and its hot weather, sometimes there is nothing better than wanting to stay home and chill; but the song is much deeper than that, as it conveys the feelings of loneliness and not wanting to go out because of this empty feeling. As Suran goes through the motions of wanting to stay in and not go out, her blanket brings her comfort. Her blanket holds her memories of a relationship and is something that is familiar to her.

When Wonstein comes in on his verse, it is from the perspective of reflecting on a broken relationship. He wonders how his former lover is doing and that whenever he leaves his blanket, it’s cold and different. It’s definitely not the same as in the past. Both Suran and Wonstein reflect on the thought of what would happen if they were still together with their lovers. Would they be watching Netflix together and enjoying each other’s company?

“Blanket” is whimsical and dreamy thanks to its light and upbeat sound and style. Although the song is about staying in, the stylization of the song gives off a summery feel. “Blanket” is catchy and refreshing and is sure to get listeners up and moving, even if they are just spending the day at home. Wonstein’s feature on the song further elevates the fun track, as both artists complement the other’s sound. Despite the underlying themes that are a little more sad and lonely, “Blanket” is a warm song that is sure to brighten your day.

The music video for “Blanket” stays true to the theme of the song as it features Suran in the comfort of her own home and chilling in a big and rather cozy-looking blanket. Throughout the music video, Suran is seen having a good time: putting on a fashion show, playing with various toys, and even goofing around with Wonstein once he comes over. While Suran is the representation of wanting to stay inside, when Wonstein is introduced, he is actually seen outside for quite some time, but eventually he makes his way inside and ends up playing alongside Suran, further driving the point that sometimes it’s good to stay at home because it can be just as fun. Nonetheless, Suran’s latest single “Blanket” is a feel-good jam and does not disappoint in delivering a song that is a guaranteed repeat in the summer playlist.
