THEBLACKLABEL'S LØREN Returns with New Single
YG Entertainment’s associate company THEBLACKLABEL’s rising star producer, LØREN has released new music as an artist. LØREN, who grew in popularity last year after co-writing and starring in the music video for BLACKPINK’s comeback single “Lovesick Girls,” has released his new single “NEED (ooo-eee).” The heavy rock-metal track was written and produced by LØREN himself, with all instruments performed by him as well.
The track’s lyrics express the frustrations of life and love, themes also expressed in the powerful music video which was also directed by the singer. While LØREN has always been known for his punk-rock sound, “NEED (ooo-eee)” also fits in perfectly with the growing trend of rock-influenced Korean tracks in 2021.
“NEED (ooo-eee)” was released alongside his 2020 track “Empty Trash”, which never got an official release besides a music video. The single album was released under THEBLACKLABEL’s subsidiary Fire Exit Records. LØREN offers something new to the Korean music scene; combining the idol image with the sound of an underground rock artist, LØREN is able to share the best of both worlds.
