ENHYPEN Goes Big in B-Side Performances

ENHYPEN kicked off their very first world tour on September 17 and 18 in Seoul. They’re currently on a two-week run in the U.S., playing sold-out arenas and making appearances at the GRAMMY Museum. The setlist features a whopping 21 songs accompanied by numerous dance breaks and special encore stages. I had the pleasure of attending day two in Seoul, which also streamed live on Weverse. ENHYPEN was full of energy from start to finish, and the crowd reciprocated ten-fold. Join me in celebrating ENHYPEN’s first world tour ‘MANIFESTO’ as we take a look at some of their best B-sides that they performed during the concert.

“Not For Sale” and “Let Me In (20 CUBE)”

The concert mainly proceeded in chronological order of ENHYPEN’s discography. This creates a nice flow between songs and makes for a seamless show from start to finish. After delivering their opening ments, the fourth-gen group jumped right into a partial performance of “Not For Sale” that flows seamlessly into “Let Me In.” While “Not For Sale” is a relaxed track about finding a priceless love, “Let Me In” is a bit more mischievous. ENHYPEN flirtatiously declare “I can be the one for you for good, I’ll be your boyfriend” in this mid-tempo song from their debut EP, BORDER: DAY ONE.

“FEVER”

We can’t discuss the best B-side performances without mentioning fan-favorite, “FEVER”. ENHYPEN heated it up with a killer dance break from the second mini-stage before moving back to the main stage for a full-choreo performance. Every aspect worked together to create a feverish vibe, from the black and maroon outfits to the strobing lights. The song itself features a smooth combination of the members’ vocals as they float over a sultry R&B track. ENHYPEN showed their passionate side as they sang about burning love and desire. If you weren’t already sweating from dancing along to “Drunk-Dazed,” this particular performance was sure to leave you feeling feverish.

“Polaroid Love”

ENHYPEN settled their way into fans’ hearts with a butterfly-inducing performance of “Polaroid Love.” At each concert, they make their way offstage and into the crowd, showering ENGENEs in finger hearts and high-fives. The boys of BELIFT LAB break out the school uniforms to give us that “old-fashioned feeling” of falling in love for the very first time. The cheerful vibe and romantic lyrics make it a perfect song for serenading, which the oldest-member Heeseung has down to a T. Fans lucky enough to witness this special performance in person are bound to leave with memories they can keep in their hearts forever, just like a polaroid picture.

“Go Big or Go Home”

Whenever you have a concert that includes general admission standing sections, it’s important to be able to hype up the crowd before the grand finale. “Go Big or Go Home” did just that with its Brit-Pop vibes and optimistic lyrics. ENHYPEN donned shiny, sequin jerseys as they sang about giving it their all and refusing to back down. It’s like the motivational speech before a big game. This B-side is sure to have listeners “feeling lucky” and ready to take on any challenge. Leave your worries at the door and go big with ENHYPEN during this dance-worthy track.

“SHOUT OUT”

If you’re like me and had no idea that “SHOUT OUT” is a fan song despite having it on repeat since its release in July, then you’re in for a wake-up call from ENHYPEN themselves. After changing into tour merch and giving a tearful ending ment, ENHYPEN offered a heart-wrenching performance of “SHOUT OUT” as their encore stage. Glossy confetti fell on the crowd, Sunoo dried his tears, and the group put their all into shouting out their true feelings for ENGENEs. It’s an emotional rollercoaster as the members showed off their beautiful vocals with fans as their backing track. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house by the time Jake delivered the killing line, “My life without you is a misery.” “SHOUT OUT” is that surreal moment during a concert where time seems to stop. Nothing else matters as idols and fans pour out their love for each other one last time before the curtains close. When the cheers die down and only memories remain, “SHOUT OUT” is the B-side that reminds us we’re never alone.

You can catch ENHYPEN on their first world tour this fall, and listen to their newest EP, MANIFESTO: DAY 1, now streaming on all platforms.
