Lee Chaeyeon Makes Spooky Season Debut
It’s been a long time coming for fans of former IZ*ONE member Lee Chaeyeon, who has been inactive in the music scene since the disbandment of the group. While she’s not been inactive per se (with participation on the dance competition show Street Woman Fighter), she’s not released music during that time. Chaeyeon follows three of her former bandmates in solo debut and makes her return to the K-Pop scene with a cute and quirky vampire concept!
Debut single “HUSH RUSH” is a fairly conventional pop track, with an upbeat and bubbly melody accompanied by Chaeyeon’s sweet vocals. The song as a standalone definitely has a summery feel to it, and the chorus hook of, “Hush Rush on the stage,” is guaranteed to get stuck in your head upon first listen.
If you’re like me and love celebrating the coming holidays, a spooky concept is exactly what you’re looking for in October. Chaeyeon plays the part of a vampire living a fairly normal existence, as we see her waking up from a coffin in the middle of an isolated mansion in the opening scene. The concept definitely has a softer and cuter twist to it to fit the song itself. The video is particularly quirky, with additions of animations throughout the video and chopped editing in multiple scenes to create duplicates of herself.
