Halloween is slowly approaching, and you know what that means? K-Pop idols transforming themselves into a number of amazing Halloween costumes! Whether it’s scary, funny, or iconic, idols don’t mess around when it comes to showing out in their best costumes. Over time, a lot of these costumes go down in history to become K-Pop memes or encourage fans to create the same look for the spooky holiday. While we await this year’s costumes, let’s take a look back at seven memorable Halloween costumes from female idols!
TWICE’s Dahyun - Aladdin’s Genie
For TWICE’s ONCE Halloween 2 event in 2019, rapper Dahyun debuted an amazing, yet comedic, Halloween costume as Disney Aladdin’s Genie! You have to admit, this took guts. Dahyun covered herself in blue body makeup to be consistent with the rest of her costume and still made sure to showcase Genie’s comedic personality in front of ONCEs. This is easily one of the funniest costumes from an idol on Halloween!
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo - BLACKPINK’s Lisa
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo dressed up as fellow member Lisa for Halloween in 2021, copying her exact style from her solo debut “LALISA.” Anything goes when it comes to costumes, especially if it’s dressing up as your group member. Sporting the wig, beanie, and long sweater, Jisoo could easily pass as Lisa if she needed to, haha!
aespa’s Karina - Alice in Wonderland's Red Queen
It’s not unfamiliar to see idols dress up as characters from Alice in Wonderland, especially as the Red Queen, but aespa’s Karina blew us away with her ensemble. Everything looks so intricate in making the perfect Red Queen of 2021. She brings the personality to the forefront with a gaze that’s intimidating to look at, which perfectly portrays the Red Queen.
Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung - Inside Out’s Sadness
For SMTOWN Wonderland 2015, or SM Entertainment’s famous Halloween party, Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung stunned many with her dedication to transforming into Inside Out’s Sadness. There’s so much to capture—the blue body paint, the outfit, and the orb prop! We know how difficult it can be to dress up as a character with deep blue body paint. After all, we saw it in the first costume on this list, too! Sooyoung blew everyone out of the park even seven years later.
Dreamcatcher’s SuA - Pennywise the Clown
Looking for something scary? Dreamcatcher’s SuA spooked us all with her Pennywise the Dancing Clown costume! For Dreamcatcher’s first InSomnia Fanclub meeting, each member dressed up in Halloween costumes. While everyone sported their unique costumes, SuA really hit the nail on the head with this scary clown look!
ITZY’s Lia - Strawberry
Yes, we know this was technically not a Halloween costume that ITZY’s Lia sported for the holiday. However, it’s a hilarious meme that I have looked back on since the day ITZY dropped the hero-themed dance practice for “Wannabe” in April 2020. To this day, I still laugh seeing her trying to maintain the choreography while staying in costume. It’s such an adorable costume idea for anyone that’s looking to stay on the conservative side and sport their favorite fruit.
AleXa - Catwoman
Last year, soloist AleXa sported three different Halloween costumes and shared them on her Twitter, but her Catwoman costume stood out the most with such a fantastic photo! It’s a jaw-dropping take on the Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman ensemble.
