Wheein and Colde: A Match Made in Acoustic Heaven
Teaming up as one of K-R&B’s newest fearsome duos, Colde and Wheein released their new single “Sunny Shower” on November 9.
Both singers are known for their relaxed vocals, so a mashup of their talents was bound to produce one of the most comforting songs, and “Sunny Shower,” the new song co-composed and co-written by Colde for Dingo Music, is about as cozy as it gets. The track pulls from jazz, using soft acoustics, gentle percussion, and light piano to set the tone for a sunny afternoon in late autumn. The Korean title for the song, “광합성,” can be translated as “photosynthesis,” and in the track, Wheein and Colde exchange verses on spending a day outdoors with a loved one like plants blossoming under the sun. It’s a cute and certainly unique metaphor for romance, on top of being a song that makes you want to curl up with a lover.
The vocalists also paired up for a recorded performance of the song for Dingo Music. Sitting among a simple set comprised of a bench and several plants, Wheein sings her opening verses before walking off. As the song continues on into the latter half, Colde makes his entrance onto the set as flowers bloom in the plants and the lights are turned up to mimic a sunny day. Toward the end, Wheein peacefully joins Colde on the bench as they softly close out the song together.
