VICTON Is Infected By A Love-Like “Virus” in New Single
VICTON are back like nothing changed in new single “Virus,” the title track of their eighth mini-album Choice. The album has five tracks and was released November 15 alongside their new single, written by Hwang Yubin and VICTON’s own Do Hanse, composed by TAK (NEWTYPE) and Adrian Mckinnon, and arranged by TAK. Though, the members had no Choice in their comeback as a five-piece group as Heo Chan left the group on October 11 and Han Seungwoo is still completing his mandatory military service until January 27, 2023.
A love-like virus 24/7? We should be so lucky! As the lyrics suggest, like a “fork in a road,” if we could choose either a love virus or the current pandemic, wouldn’t you rather take VICTON’s love any day? Well, the members certainly think so as they describe you as their “beautiful nightmare.”
Representing all four seasons and elements, this contemplating “Virus” gives us a chord progression full of tension, but a sensual hook. Yet, the members’ love virus seems to be caught only in a dream they wish to wake from. Or do they? Although the dream is lucid, it’s drowned in paralysis VICTON can’t quite control as they reach out to someone who’s always one step ahead. Just as they get back onto their feet and finally catch you, they awaken. Is it possible to escape from this “Virus?”
