Super Junior Return With The Road: Winter for Spring

Super Junior is back and this time they have released their special single album, The Road: Winter for Spring. The album contains two new songs, “Callin’” and “Analogue Radio,” and has already topped the iTunes Charts in several countries. While it seems that most of the K-Pop industry has been on the experimental sound wave (which we have been loving), Super Junior is daring to be different.

While many of the latest releases in K-Pop have been upbeat hype tracks, “Callin” strays from the trend, giving us a more emotional pop-rock sound. The track starts off with just an acoustic guitar, eventually being joined by a full band ensemble. However, the instruments do not overpower the members' vocals, which are the stars of the song. "Callin'" brings us back to our pop-rock roots, an easy-to-listen-to track about love that, on some listens, makes you reminisce of a past love. The music video is also unique, as it switches between the members and animations. We see the members in what appears to be a worn-down building in winter (as images of a storm are seen throughout the video), but during the chorus we see animated clips, which eventually lead to the animated protagonist reuniting with their love. Check the music video out for yourself below.

"Analogue Radio" has a very similar sound to "Callin'." We are met again with that same acoustic guitar, but "Analogue Radio" contains slight synth sounds and it's a tad more upbeat. It's yet another track that is easy on the ears and highlights the beautiful vocals of Super Junior.

Together on one album, "Callin'" and "Analogue Radio" give us seven minutes of calm, pure bliss, and music that can touch our hearts and relax us simultaneously. The Road: Winter for Spring is a single album that we recommend checking out as soon as possible.
