An Introduction to 2Z
The world of K-Bands isn’t nearly as expansive as other genres. If you’re a collector of the K-Band variety, make sure to familiarize yourself with 2Z (also known as TuZi)! The five-member band officially debuted in 2020 and has currently released three EPs, one studio album, and three digital singles, along with a handful of K-Drama OSTs.
The band consists of five members: Zunon, Bumjun, Hojin, Jiseob, and Junghyun. The group was revealed in late 2019 and made their official debut in January 2020 with EP We Tuzi:. The debut lineup consisted of a bit of a different composition, as former member Hyunwoong was the rapper, but he decided to leave in June and was replaced by Zunon. The addition of a rapper made for an interesting debut in “My 1st Hero.”
Through 2020, they would release another EP and three digital singles. The first studio album, Act1, came in 2021 accompanied by two music videos, “O@SIS” and “STUPID.” The vibe of both of these songs is very much early 2000s pop rock.
So far in 2022, the band has released an OST for Behind Cut and Kissable Lips, both of which are BL dramas, and the former actually stars Bumjun. In April, they also released the music video for “Like a Cool,” another OST for the BL drama Oh! Boarding House.
If you want a little bit more, on the group’s YouTube channel they also have an extensive playlist of cover releases. There are K-Pop song covers such as BTS’s “Black Swan,” (G)I-DLE’s “Oh My God,” GOT7’s “NOT BY THE MOON,” aespa’s “Next Level,” Sunmi’s “TAIL,” and even ZICO’s “Any song.” It’s not just popular K-Pop songs, though; they also cover classics like Radiohead’s “Creep” and “Love Me Do” by The Beatles.
If you’re looking for a new K-Band to support, you can find all of 2Z’s info on their YouTube page and keep up with their activities!
