BTS Says the Best is “Yet To Come”

The “proof” is in the production and BTS’s new anthology album is all the proof we need to show that the group has an incredible musical catalog that will only continue to grow. BTS debuted in 2013 and in the nine years since then, they have risen to a point of global stardom that no other K-Pop group has reached. To show off their impressive career, the bulletproof boy group put together a 35-song album, Proof, which was released on June 10. Proof contains songs from every era of BTS’s career, from their debut track “No More Dream” to the album’s new single, “Yet To Come.”

The new song itself perfectly blends the feeling of nostalgia that fans will inevitably experience when listening through this album and the promise that “we’ll keep coming back.” The music is soft and pretty with a smooth 808 beat, similar to the styling of “Spring Day.” “Yet To Come” is a pensive look at how they got where they are while still reassuring fans that for BTS, the end is nowhere in sight.

The music video tied to the track is bright, simple, and clean. It also matches the theme of the song by bringing in elements from many of their past eras, including V in the school uniform from their earliest days, the carousel from “Spring Day,” their continuous butterfly motifs, and many more subtle gems. There is even a moment where Jin covers V’s eyes and reveals the school bus from their very first music video, which they all run towards. Even with all of these pieces, the music video has an openness to it, as if there is plenty of room to add more.

The journey that BTS has taken as a group splits itself into three CDs, with each one taking fans deeper into their creative process. The first CD could be considered BTS’s greatest hits, as it contains the songs that even the newest BTS fan should know. Flip the page onto the next set of songs, and it is a group of superfan favorites and B-sides. The last CD is possibly the most coveted, only made available in the physical albums, as it holds a number of unreleased demo versions of some of their most popular songs, including “Boy In Luv,” “I Need U,” and “DNA,” done in new ways by both the group and individual members.

In celebration for the new album, BTS announced the upcoming Proof live event that will take place on the ninth anniversary of the group’s debut. On June 13, the boy group will host the live performance on their official YouTube channel and Bangtan TV. To witness the live event firsthand, be sure to tune in on June 13, and check out the music video for Proof’s lead track, “Yet To Come,” below!
