BLITZERS Returns with the Energetic “Hit The Bass”
BLITZERS continues to blaze the trail through the K-Pop world with their third mini-album WIN-DOW and title track “Hit The Bass!” The septet makes their return five months after the release of their last single album, BOBBIN, and their world tour at the beginning of the year. The mini-album features six new tracks, and title track “Hit The Bass” shows the group taking a bit of a different artistic approach.
While many of the group’s previous title tracks have more of a rock influence in their melody, “Hit The Bass” goes a different direction and follows the noise music trend, bringing in a heavier EDM influence in the melody. The song is full of energy from the moment it opens and becomes addictive once the vocals come in. After kicking the song off with the chorus, the first verse highlights raps from Jinhwa and Chris to ramp up the intensity of the song. The high energy of the music feels like a good fit for summer comebacks, and the song has a traditional composition that builds up to a drop at the chorus, a tried-and-true method that makes the track addicting. The rock influences that we’ve come to recognize with the band do still appear, just in a final verse at the end of the song. It provides an interesting change in the song and makes it even more catchy as the energy is cranked up to 100%.
The music video was shot in Pakistan and showcases the unique architecture of the country, which is not something we see much in K-Pop. It is shot beautifully, showcasing not only the gorgeous setting but the high energy choreography and the strong visuals of the members. The fashion is great as well, showing both a youthful and mature side in different settings of the video.
