Idols Take Over the Streets of Europe During Fashion Week Season
As the fashion continent of the world, Europe has brought in many fashion-enjoyers this month as Fashion Weeks in major cities commenced in 2023. The new wave of K-Pop idols attending their shows has seen many familiar faces in these capitals, with brands showing their support by personally inviting them to view the runways.
Prada
ENHYPEN made their second appearance in Europe, as they traveled to Milan for Prada’s Fall/Winter 2023 Menswear show as a full group. From tailored gray suits to fitted brown leather coats, the brand displayed a range of smart and chic pieces during the show. The designer highlighted that he wanted to create wearable pieces, not just ones that look good on the runway. Despite not attending the show, Ambassadors for the brand such as TWICE’s Sana, NCT’s Jaehyun, and GOT7’s Bambam posted runway looks from the show on their personal Instagrams to show support of the new lines.
Gucci
Also stepping out in Milan, EXO’s Kai made an appearance at the Gucci show for Milan Fashion Week as one of their long-standing Global Brand Ambassadors. Kai has grown a strong relationship with the brand over the years, from creating his own limited line with the brand to being styled by them for public events. The brand’s newest line during fashion week featured a return of the rockstar look, with cheetah print bags in sight and eccentric color combinations upon one another.
Saint Laurent
This year, Saint Laurent returned to Paris Fashion Week after a six-year hiatus from the industry, debuting their Menswear Fall/Winter 2023 collection. The brand’s signature rock-chic looks were reinvented, however the black and sleek looks were identifiably Anthony Vaccarello’s work. Among those invited were NCT and WayV’s Ten and SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan, whose looks and styles both matched seamlessly to Saint Laurent’s image.
Givenchy
Also making an appearance in Paris during Paris Fashion Week was BIGBANG’s Taeyang, who attended to watch Givenchy’s newest line. The brand announced Taeyang as their newest Global Brand Ambassador shortly before the show, and Taeyang expressed his gratitude stating that the brand has inspired him in various ways over the years and that he’s looking forward to collaborating with them in the future.
AMI
Fellow SEVENTEEN member Hoshi made his Fashion Week debut with his surprise appearance at AMI’s Fall/Winter Fashion Show. Despite being a surprise, Hoshi was welcomed by many fans outside of the event, even bumping shoulders with singer Usher and actress Gwendoline Christie. The show was hosted inside of the Opera Bastille, where guests were presented to AMI’s newest range of day-to-day citywear and showcased the looks on various age ranges to further reach their appeal.
Louis Vuitton
BTS member J-Hope made his first appearance of Paris Fashion Week at the Louis Vuitton show, where he was spotted wearing a camouflage-print co-ed piece with a matching shirt, with patterns matching the traces of faces. The look was featured on the runway, making J-Hope the first to flaunt the piece before allowing others to view it during the show. Louis Vuitton’s menswear 2023 line displayed a theme that reconnected people to their childhood, with the bright colors and experimental designs creating a fun new collection. This show was co-created in collaboration with Louis Vuitton and Colm Dillane.
Dior
Alongside J-Hope, fellow member Jimin appeared with him at the Dior Menswear Show during the last few days of Paris Fashion Week. Jimin was recently appointed Brand Ambassador for the brand, and fans were excited to see him as he stepped out in an oversized gray suit paired with laced-up boots of the same shade. The pair watched on as the show displayed a range of muted color pieces consisting of fisherman hats to poncho-like windbreakers.
BLACKPINK’s Jisoo appeared at the Dior Spring 2023 Haute Couture Show in a recreation of Audrey Hepburn’s most famous top-bun paired with a sleeveless dress with a sheer shirt underneath. As one of the brand’s Ambassadors, Jisoo was able to wear the piece which featured in their last couture show, showing her loyalty to the brand. The look accentuated Jisoo’s doll-like features and brought out the glam in the Jospehine Baker-inspired looks of the couture show.
