Love or B.I

On Sunday, October 15, I finally got to witness the sensational talents of music all-rounder B.I as he took to the stage at London’s Troxy venue for the UK stop of his Love or Die Tour.  An incredible rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, and more, B.I has so many incredible songs in his ever-growing discography that for this week I thought it would be good to highlight and share some of my favorite B.I B-side tracks with you.

"Middle with you"

B.I’s “Middle with you” is a cozy, laidback, alternative, indie track from his 2022 EP Love or Loved, Pt.1 that showcases his warm and dreamy vocal style as opposed to the hard-hitting rap style that he is more known for. It’s a charming track that B.I himself describes as “cute…very sweet and lovely” with simplistic yet beautifully written lyrics connoting love, happiness, and reminiscing of childhood. “Middle with you” is very different from a lot of B.I’s other tracks but it’s one of my all-time favorites.

"Truth"

From his most recent album TO DIE FOR, “Truth” is another one of B.I’s tracks that showcases his raw vocal abilities. Against a dreamy and romantic orchestral melody that plays like a warm lullaby, B.I graces the track with strong gritty singing vocals and beautiful high notes that one might not expect from a rapper. 

"Remember me"

From his debut studio album Waterfall, B.I's single "Remember me" exudes fun, quirky vibes with an instrumentation that sounds perfect for a video game soundtrack. On the surface, "Remember me" is a gentle rap song that makes you feel happy and cheerful, but underneath, the lyrics are deep, full of sadness and pain with B.I wanting to be remembered for good memories and not just for the bad. It's a meaningful song for both B.I and IDs (his loyal fandom) who have supported him through the highs and lows of his career.
