“On My Youth” and “On My Youth (English Version)”

I am in love! Now, this is how you do a title track. The song is so heartfelt and makes me feel like I am in a movie. I found myself just rewinding the song over and over again because I felt this song on a spiritual level. It’s a deep track with a powerful message, saying just blame everything on my youth. The pain they caused the person and how they acted, is in the past. With lyrics like, “All of those lies I told to you,” and, “All of those highs I stole from you,” it will make any listener clutch at their chest. The English version told the story perfectly. I can feel the emotion in both versions. Is it crazy that I want to cry when I hear this song? I can’t be the only one who gets emotional hearing this masterpiece.

The vocals in this track are phenomenal, and the rapping, oh my gosh. I heard runs and bars that made me look around the room, wondering if someone else heard this. The bridge and final chorus are my favorite parts of this song. The angst and hurt you hear in their voices tell the story from a listener's point of view, and the video adds to the storyline. It showed the members showing signs of anxiety, anger, and heartbreak. It’s a powerful title track that has a powerful message. I recommend everyone to listen to it.

“Poppin’ Love”

After crying, it is now time to dance, and “Poppin’ Love” makes you want to do exactly that. Other than the title track, this is another favorite of mine. Before the album, we got to hear “Poppin’ Love” when they released a track video. At that moment, we already knew this album was going to eat. “Ain’t it poppin’ love, poppin’ love, poppin’ love, yeah” has been in my head all day. The high note at the end of the song had me levitating. The track video is cool, too. The dance is striking and fun. It’s another fun track from WayV that we’re gonna stream for a while.

“Ain’t No Thang”

Come on y’all, it’s time to party. That’s how I feel when this song comes on. This upbeat track feels a little retro and funky. The repetitive chorus and the high notes make you want to groove. This is a turn from the title track, and I love that. When this song turns on, stand up, and dance. It’s worth it.

“No One But You”

“I don’t want no one but you.” Now it’s time to sway and snap your fingers. “No One But You” is calming and is a song you play to relax. While listening to this song, I was super relaxed and had a smile on my face the whole time. The track is pop-infused and is a cute love song. The lyrics are addictive, and you will sing along.

“INVINCIBLE”

Okay, yes, this is another favorite of mine. I at first thought this track was fully in English since the beginning was in English, but as the song continued I realized it wasn’t. “Throw it up, throw it up, yeah we did it.” They ate that! We are back with an upbeat house track that’s going to make you jump around. “WOAH, WOAH!” “INVINCIBLE” is an uplifting, cheerful, and positive track that will make any listener happy.

“RODEO”

This track is so NEO. The intense bass and the beat drop are so NEO-coded. Any listener would dance along when they hear the beat. This rap-heavy track deserves to play at a rave. Listening to this song, I picture strobe lights, a big crowd, and people dancing. It’s an amusing song that will excite anybody.

“Moonlight”

This is another favorite of mine. I know, I know, but this album is just so good. What can I say? “Moonlight” is one of those B-sides you become obsessed with, and you can’t help it. The runs, the high notes, everything about this song is perfect. I like the chilling aura that we get from “Moonlight” as well. I love that this track is pop but also has a little R&B and house mixture as well. “Moonlight” is a top-tier B-side we will never let go of.

“Lighthouse”

A BALLAD! I am going to fold for a ballad every time, no matter who it is. “I miss you, I miss you. I don’t want to miss you.” I’m not crying, you are. They did so well on this track. The belts on this song made me feel like I was on a cloud. I felt like I was floating. The story of missing the person you love but not wanting to feel that way is a feeling many can relate to, and they showed the emotion perfectly.

“Be Alright”

I know this isn’t technically the last song on the album, but “Be Alright” is the final song of all final songs on an album. I have never heard a song that gave off a bigger ending than this song. I can imagine this track playing at the end of a concert. “Be Alright” is a banger and is another one of my favorites. It’s magical and bright. I would love to see a video for this track. I just think it would be so good.

WayV came through and released an amazing album, and there are no skips. It is always a joy to hear from WayV, and as a fan, I was beyond excited to hear from them. On My Youth - The 2nd Album is iconic, and it’s gonna go down in history. We are all proud of the big things they have done, and we all can’t wait to see what big things WayV has planned for the future.
