VERIVERY Greets the Warm Weather with the Trendy “Crazy Like That”

In their four years in the K-Pop scene, VERIVERY has proven their musical versatility by their exploration of different genres. It’s hard to believe we’ve had music from the group for four years now, and in their latest single “Crazy Like That,” the boys provide us with a new sound in a chill and trendy EDM track perfectly fit for the warming weather.

The main beat of “Crazy Like That” reminds me of a relaxed runway beat, a light house-influenced sound that elicits the mood to take it easy. The intensity of the EDM influence picks up into the chorus and is reminiscent of early 2000s popular techno without being as overbearing as it was in that era. As expected of a more relaxed type of beat, vocals take top priority in this track. The way the song slowly fades out rather than ending abruptly is also a nice change of pace and leaves you with an overall feeling of peace that matches the pace of a lazy summer.

The aesthetics of the video drive home the summer vibes of the track, with simple grunge outfits featuring paint splatter, worn shirts with holes, and heavy use of jeans. This is also contrasted by an office setting with more formal wear, as if to showcase two sides of the same coin. It’s an interesting contrast between youth and maturity, a perfect representation of a group that is still young but has years of experience in their career.
