“Everyone Else Fades” in Mark Tuan’s Latest Release

Mark Tuan has been keeping busy since leaving JYP Entertainment in January 2021. Not only has he participated in activities as a member of GOT7, he also released a 20-track solo album in 2022. Meanwhile, 2023 has been full of tour stops and new singles. The latest release, “Everyone Else Fades,” dropped on September 1 alongside a music video starring Thai actress and model, Davika Hoorne.

The track is a nice blend of styles from Mark’s debut album, the other side, and his first release of 2023, “Carry Me Out.” The verses stay rooted in pop R&B, but the chorus carries hints of rock which adds a bit of excitement to the otherwise chill track. Mark’s voice suits these genres extremely well as he sings romantic lyrics about falling for someone so quickly and deeply that you can’t see anyone else when you’re with them.

The music video was filmed in two locations. One features Mark and Davika running through the waters of a picturesque beach. Some shots make use of an old camcorder, adding another layer to the video by creating a sense of nostalgia. The other location shows Mark alone in a dimly lit room. He’s singing along to the lyrics despite the chaos surrounding him as papers fly around the room and scatter across the floor. It’s a simple video, but fits well with the song’s message.
