BamBam Stuns in Outfits as He Kicks off His ‘AREA 52’ World Tour!

BamBam kicked off his first solo world tour AREA 52 in Seoul on September 16. The 26-year-old GOT7 member celebrated the start of his tour with a bang as he prepared a variety of different stages for fans, and different outfits too!

When the tour poster and name first dropped, many fans expressed their excitement and shared what they would be wearing to the tour. Despite the name of the tour being AREA 52, BamBam was still surprised to see fans online joking about their attire.

One thing unique to idol concerts in Korea is that they will often give fans a theme or dress code for the show, often so that fans can spot one another on their way to the show and create a unique identity together! The given dress code for AREA 52 was to wear black and red, and if fans were willing, to be dressed in extraterrestrial-inspired clothes. 

A Collaboration Between Fans and Artist

Prior to the tour starting, BamBam took to Twitter, now X, to ask fans if they had any outfit designs for him to wear on tour! BamBam has expressed his interest in fashion many times over the years, so it’s great to see that ABYSS are involving him in the creative process of his tour outfits, with the visual help from fans, of course!

The “slim spacesuit” outfit that BamBam inquired about made its debut in his Seoul concert, photographed by BamBam’s famous long-running fansite, bammad.

One fan in particular noticed this outfit looking familiar to one they had sketched up on the #Area52Outfit tag on X. X user CholorSplash shared their design ideas earlier this year, with details ranging from the pattern across his chest that featured on his tour poster, with the same panels going across his shoulders and down his sleeves.

CholorSplash shared their excitement on Twitter once they discovered their design had been referenced and took to social media to reach ABYSS. With adaptations from the company’s appointed designer, his spacesuit outfit was created. 

Throughout the night, BamBam’s outfits all fit the red and black theme, changing silhouettes and prints, with his final outfit featuring my favorite item that he wore: a pitchfork jacket featuring fun NASA-related patches!

Surprise Guests

BamBam’s first world tour saw surprise performances from GOT7 members Youngjae and Yugyeom! Ahgases were more than excited to see the group’s youngest members together on stage again with the two performing their solo tracks before coming together to perform GOT7 group songs! And of course, Youngjae and Yugyeom were dressed according to the theme too.

The intricate metal hardware on the collar and the artwork cutouts across the chest of the jacket make for a unique piece that can be worn both casually and in a high fashion style! With the red of the jacket, it definitely gives concert performance vibes. As the jacket worked as a statement piece, pairing it with a seemingly plain black sleeveless top kept it simple. However, the flower details down the sides complimented Youngjae’s tattoos and tied the whole look together.

DRIES VAN NOTEN - Oversized Mesh Tee 

I personally like the small details that came out of pairing the cropped jacket with the oversized tee together, from the mesh sleeves poking through to the red lining on the top design matching the jacket! Yugyeom’s style progression over the years has seen him in baggier, less form-fitting clothes and I love the way they continued this for his outfit on BamBam’s tour! The Diesel cap tops the whole look off.

BamBam’s AREA 52 tour commenced in Seoul on September 16. The Asia leg of his tour goes as follows:

September 30 – Macau, China

October 15 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

October 21 – Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

October 28 – Bangkok, Thailand

November 16 – Osaka, Japan 

November 18 – Yokohama, Japan 

With the “And More” on the tour poster teasing fans, more tour dates are to be anticipated for the AREA 52 tour. It will be interesting to see if each continental tour leg sees BamBam in different fan-made outfits. Find more tour information on ABYSS's social media soon!
