Throwback Thursday: January Releases

When you look back in time, and think about the many releases that have happened in January, you realize there are plenty of groups who have released absolute bangers to start off the New Year. Today, we are going to take it back and talk about those releases. 

ATEEZ - “Answer” 

This track is a masterpiece. Everything about “Answer” is top-tier. On January 6, 2020, KQ Entertainment boy group ATEEZ released their iconic track “Answer” to the world, and we have been obsessed ever since. The vocals, rap, choreography, and storyline came together and created a classic. “Answer” is a track that everyone knows the words to, line by line. It’s so much fun and is one of ATEEZ’s most iconic tracks. It’s always a joy to listen to it and jam to it when it plays. 

NCT 127 - “Limitless” 

“Oh, baby, it's you.” Word for word, bar for bar—many of us can scream the lyrics to this track. Starting the New Year strong, SM Entertainment boy group NCT 127 released their hit track “Limitless” on January 6, 2017. Phenomenal is the word that comes to mind when I hear this song. NCT 127 is known for their hard-hitting, show-stopping tracks, and “Limitless” did not disappoint. This R&B-inspired track grasps your attention the moment you hear the beat drop. The vocals are fantastic, and the ending is jaw-dropping. It’s a hit song from NCT 127 and is so much fun to listen to. 

SEVENTEEN - “Home” 

This song is beautiful! SEVENTEEN, the Pledis Entertainment boy group, released their stunning title track, “Home,” on January 21, 2019, and wow. This ballad is the type of song that makes you grip your chest and scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs. SEVENTEEN are known for their amazing vocals, rap, and choreography, so of course, they excelled with this release. The choreography is so in sync and dazzling to watch. Their dancing skills are marvelous and are always shocking to watch. They definitely came through and ate this song up. 

GOT7 - “Girls Girls Girls” 

“Girls, girls, girls, they love me.” Come on, let's sing along. This is another track that many of us know word for word. On January 20, 2014, former JYP Entertainment boy group GOT7 released their song “Girls Girls Girls.” I love this song, just like many other people. You can’t help but dance when you hear this song. GOT7 is a well-known name in K-Pop, and on that day, they dropped a debut that we will never forget. It’s always fun to go back and listen to this track. The video, dance, and song bring back so much nostalgia, and this track will always be historic.
