Throwback Thursday: Songs For Your Halloween Party Part 2

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! It is time to take out those costumes you worked hard on, and gather all the candy you can! It’s time to call your friends and have that party of the century. In part one, I talked about some spooky songs that would be perfect for your Halloween party. The party can’t end without these bangers being played. So, let’s do a part two of songs that are perfect for your Halloween party.

SEULGI - “28 Reasons”

On October 4, 2022, Red Velvet member SEULGI debuted with her spooky track “28 Reasons.” This anticipated debut dropped right in time for Halloween. Everything about this song is spooky: the outfits, video concept, and glitchy effect on the song itself. SEULGI is a phenomenal singer and she incorporates a more eerie sound to the song that will send a chill down your spine. Her vocals are soft and mellow until she comes in powerful during the chorus. Then that iconic bridge and high note made us all jump to our feet. Playing this at your party will make it a sing-along when everyone joins SEULGI during that high note.

Dreamcatcher - “Scream”

On February 18, 2020, another set of spooky queens dropped their iconic first album. Dreamcatcher’s album, [Dystopia: The Tree of Language] dropped and rocked our worlds. I couldn’t talk about Halloween and spooky themes and not bring any of their songs up. One song in particular is their well-known track “Scream.” This heavy-metal/rock track is exactly what you think of when you hear Dreamcatcher. With a heavy rock influence, you feel like you have been transported to a BABYMETAL or Pierce the Veil concert. Their vocals are out of this world. It is strong and holds so much power that you can’t help but sing along. It’s a certified banger that will have all of your guests on their feet.

Key - “Villain (feat. Jeno)”

This is a B-side that I truly believed could have been a title track. It’s groovy and addictive. On August 30, 2022, SHINee member Key and NCT Dream member Jeno joined forces on Key’s album, Gasoline - The 2nd Album. “Villain” is an upbeat dance track with addictive lyrics. “You can call me villain” will be stuck in your head all day long. The difference in Key’s higher vocals and Jeno’s deeper rap sound merges perfectly for a song that you will love. There is this whisper-singing that they do that creates an ominous feeling while listening, and the mad scientist concept throughout the album adds the finishing touches.

(G)I-DLE - “Oh my god”

When I first heard this song I instantly was met with chills that ran down my arms. On April 6, 2020, (G)I-DLE dropped their EP, I trust. On this EP is their groundbreaking title track, “Oh my god.” The moment the song starts, you are met with a chime from a bell. That sound alone creates this eerie feeling. The girls did not play around this comeback. With a darker theme and aura, we are shown a different side of the girls. The music video is dark and shows clips of the girls in all-white rooms, fake blood being poured over them, as they are dragged around and surrounded by people. This comeback had me and many others at the edge of our seats. The heavy bass and siren-like vocals will have you hooked to this track, and it's perfect to create that eerie feeling at your party.
