Most Viewed K-Pop Music Videos
While music video streaming does not solidify an artists’ impact or popularity in the K-Pop industry, it certainly shows the devotion of a fandom and their love for their favorite artists. Videos with the highest streams come from larger fandoms that have strategies for streaming and organize events related to streaming. Here are the 12 artists that occupy the top 60 spots as of November 2024.
The top 24 spots are filled solely by PSY, BLACKPINK, and BTS with PSY’s iconic “Gangnam Style” standing strong at No. 1 after accumulating over 33,000,000 views in just the last month. There remains over a 3 billion digit gap between “Gangnam Style” and BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
PSY
PSY holds seven out of the top 100 spots with “Gangnam Style,” “Gentleman,” “Oppa Is Just My Style,” “DADDY,” “That That,” “Hangover,” and “New Face.” Known for his outlandish music videos, PSY always brings a theatrical performance to the screen. The scenes often catch viewers off guard, combining comedy with music.
BLACKPINK and BTS
Throughout the charts, BLACKPINK and BTS go back and forth claiming whatever spots in the top 24 PSY missed. These videos were released as early as 2015 for BTS and debut for BLACKPINK.
iKON and MOMOLAND
If you were a K-Pop fan in 2018, you remember how big iKON’s “LOVE SCENARIO” was. The song stands at No. 32 and gained nearly 3 million views during October 2024. The same is true for “BBoom BBoom” by MOMOLAND. The song gained popularity for its catchiness and the music video features the iconic dance. However, the group unfortunately fell out of the spotlight and eventually disbanded.
EXO
EXO enters the chart at No. 39 with “Love Shot.” The video features solo shots of the members, the addictive choreography that many groups have covered, and KAI’s iconic red suit.
K/DA
The League of Legends virtual K-Pop girl group that includes Miyeon and Soyeon of (G)I-DLE has one of the most popular K-Pop music videos despite only consisting of the members’ virtual counterparts. The nature of the video leaves for an unlimited amount of possibilities and effects, which don’t disappoint.
ITZY and Stray Kids
Labelmates ITZY and Stray Kids entered the chart at No. 46 and No. 54 respectively, both with 2020 releases. The ITZY members show off their boldness in their most popular music video, “WANNABE” and they live fearlessly as their true selves.
Stray Kids’s “God’s Menu” set the stage for many videos to come. It is the group's first music video to reach 400 million views and its release opened the door to many new fans.
GOT7
Lastly, at No. 60 is GOT7’s “Just Right.” This video of miniature GOT7 members delivering the message of being perfect the way you are released early on in the group's career. The concept is cute compared to the group’s usual concepts and the video is well known even by K-Pop fans that don’t necessarily keep up with GOT7.
