Throwback Thursday: It’s All About Love
How many songs can you name with the word love in it? I bet there are many. Since we are now in the month of love, the feeling of love is in the air. It is time to go back and look at some songs that give that same feeling. Many of the songs on this list have a special place in our hearts and would be a great song to play during this love-filled season. So, let’s take it back and talk about these loveable songs.
NCT U - “90’s Love”
“That 90’s love.” Many older R&B songs talk about the love shown in the ‘90s, and NCT U came through and showed us their version of it. In the song, they talk about how they want that ‘90s love. They are talking about the love that we all have seen in movies, media, and videos. “90’s Love” is a track off of the NCT RESONANCE Pt. 2 - The 2nd Album, which was released on November 23, 2020. Members Mark, Ten, Winwin, Jeno, Haechan, Yangyang, and former member Sungchan gave us an upbeat, hip-hop-infused dance track to make you want to bust a move.
EXID - “I LOVE YOU”
On November 21, 2018, iconic girl group EXID dropped one of their hit tracks, “I LOVE YOU.” This addictive track was released and screamed iconic the moment we saw it. The members Solji, Elly, Hani, Hyelin, and Jeonghwa came through and showed us the quirky and bizarre things being in love can have you do. The party/hungover concept and the lyrics about how they are addicted to their significant other make for a fun song to scream this Valentine's Day.
TWICE - “What is Love?”
Our TWICE really did their big one with this release. On July 9, 2018, TWICE dropped their well-known title track, “What is Love?” This lighthearted track talks about how they want to know what love is. They are expressing how they want what's in the movies, how they want to have that experience. The video is so adorable. The members Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Momo, Mina, Chaeyoung, Dahyun, and Tzuyu all portrayed scenes from movies, and it caused an iconic video we will never forget. This song will go down in history and is a great song to play this season.
