Wish You Hell - The 2nd Mini Album -EP
“Wish You Hell”
“His Car Isn’t Yours”
“Best Ever”
“Better Judgement”
“Queen Of The Party”
“Vermilion”
The title track, “Wish You Hell,” is the empowering song that we all need. This upbeat and quirky track is so much fun to listen to. The beat is addictive, and the lyrics are something that everyone will sing along to. We all know Wendy is an amazing vocalist, and her skills are on full display in this song. This breakup track isn’t about an ex, it is about a breakup from your old self. In the lyrics, she talks about how she is a different person and how she’s no longer that same “good girl.” Just from the chorus, many would think this is about a partner when in reality, the song is about turning over a new leaf and being true to yourself. It's pretty uplifting.
In the video, we see Wendy saying goodbye to her old self–the person she was pretending to be. We get to see her talking to herself in the casket, which is an interesting way to tell the story. There are many scenes of her in different outfits. Wendy shows different aesthetics and her coming out of her comfort zone. It is such an iconic video to match the vibe of the song.
The rest of the EP features upbeat dance tracks, ballads, and pop sing-alongs. Throughout the mini-album, we get this overall party vibe, and each B-Side has its own vibe. For example, one track called “His Car Isn’t Yours” is fully in English and has that R&B/pop fusion. While the track “Best Ever” is a pop/jazz fusion. It's always exciting to switch to a new song and get a different story or message, and on this EP, that's exactly what we got.
It is so exciting to see Wendy again. Wish You Hell is a fun mini-album that everyone will love to listen to. She has done it again and given us an EP we will never forget. So, check out Wish You Hell.
