NOWADAYS Will Charm You With Their First Single
Eight years after the launch of Pentagon, CUBE Entertainment recently announced the arrival of a new boy group: NOWADAYS. Since the beginning of March, their presentation and their universe have been revealed little by little on their official social networks. Made up of five boys, some profiles are intriguing, while others arouse enthusiasm. Indeed, the leader of this new group is Hyeonbin and many K-Pop fans already know him through the Mnet show Produce X 101—a show in which his talents as a rapper and pianist captured attention. Moreover, the first video of the Trailer released on March 10 features Hyeonbin behind a beautiful white grand piano.
The second member of the group is Yeonwoo. He has been training at CUBE Entertainment for around six years, which proves his passion and determination. In addition to being a singer and dancer, he is the group's choreographer. Then there is Yoon, and although we know very little about him, we can already see his cute and fun personality as he takes the position of singer. The last two members are Jinhyuk and Siyun, both rappers. Jinhyuk participated in Hui's “Cold Killer” from the group Pentagon. Siyun, although he is the maknae, has great physical fitness worthy of an athlete that we can admire during this fancam. He’s in charge of the physical exercise of NOWADAYS. All five boys already display attractive temperaments and personalities.
NOWADAYS – NOWADAYS – TRACKLIST
01. “NOW”
02. “OoWee”
03. “TICKET”
The title track “OoWee” is a song that mixes soulful melodies and hip-hop elements. The exclamation “OoWee” is catchy and as Yeonwo explains, the movement that accompanies it is a charming and loving gesture. The chorus continues with a bouncy choreography before concluding with a more disciplined but cute gesture on the word “crazy.”
“The lead track is about the three seconds that it takes to fall in love. That’s why our choreography has a lot of moves in which we make heart shapes with our hands. It has a soulful melody with some hip-hop components,” said Yoon during their debut press conference in Seoul on Tuesday.
This title illustrates the essence of their musical style in this crazy magic when you fall in love. Jinhyuk and Siyun participated in the lyrics of “OoWee” and “TICKET.” The boys are invested and aim to shape a unique identity with their music, a new genre that they describe as “Days-pop.”
We can now see the enormous success to come for this group of this fifth generation of K-Pop. The boys also participated in a photo shoot in the fashion magazine MEN Noblesse revealing their charms.
