DRIPPIN Talks New Single, Growth Since Debut and More

On April 3, DRIPPIN made their return to the K-Pop scene after nearly a year. The sextet of Yunseong, Hyeop, Changuk, Dongyun, Minseo, and Junho took some time before their release to speak with The Kraze about their comeback, how things have changed since their debut in 2020, and more. Check it out below!

Q: Tell us more about your new single!

DONGYUN: This album contains our DRIPPIN’s boyish charm and has a title song that compares separation and pain to a maze! The other two songs are also full of refreshing energy!

Q: Which part is your favorite in your new single?

YUNSEONG: The chorus is nice to listen [to]!

JUNHO: I like the melody and lively dance of the part “Even if I ask thousands of times, you are the same why oh why.”

DY: I like the part “Even if I ask thousands of times.”

HYEOP: The part where the chorus begins with “It’s a beautiful maze” is the best.

MINSEO: My part “Even if I ask thousands of times, you are the same.”

Q: You’re now three years into your idol careers, what’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned since debut?

YS: Being always polite and grateful to Dreamin.

JH : I realized that it is important to take my own time.

H: I think there is a learning curve that comes from polishing and thinking on my own and becoming more mature.

Q: At this point in your career, is there any specific genre of music you’re interested in trying out or revisiting?

DY:: I really like our song “Silence” so I want to try a Silence-style again.

MS : I want to try classy-refresh.

Q: Is there a specific type of concept you would be interested in trying out?

YS: Rather than being sexy, [I] want to try something like mature and cool concepts that grown-ups can do.

H: I want to continue trying mature and refreshing concepts like now.

Q: What’s your favorite memory from your debut until now?

YS: Everything was memorable, so I think doing everything with Dreamin will be memorable this time as well.

JH: What comes to mind most is the moment when I enjoyed performing on the stage with Dreamin at our first fanmeeting.

DY: I still remember the excitement I felt when we first went overseas together.

H: My biggest memory is the excitement and tension during our first debut showcase.

MS: First fanmeeting after COVID!

Q: What has been your favorite choreography in your comebacks?

YS: I like the choreography in the second verse because it shows the feeling of the lyric part.

JH: “Even if I ask thousands of times, you are the same why oh why,” the rhythmic choreography for the part is fun.

DY: I like the beginning of [the] chorus where we start stretching out our hands.

Q: If you had to swap identities for a day with one of the members, who would it be?

YS: I would like [to] be one of the maknaes.

JH : Minseo, because we have opposite tendencies so it would be fun.

DY: I want to be Hyeop and sing high songs all day long.

H: Yunseong. I want to dance freely like him.

MS: Hyeop. I want to sing a lot of high-pitched songs.

Q: What are some tips to manage time well during busy schedules?

H: Even if you are busy, I think getting enough rest is really important.

Q: How do you handle pressure when things get hard?

YS: I mostly go for a walk.

JH: I tend to just accept it silently.

DY: I solve it by taking a walk, eating delicious food, or walking around the downtown area alone and watching people.

Q: Lastly, is there any message you’d like to share with your international fans?

YS: To overseas Dreamin, thank you so much for loving and supporting DRIPPIN even from afar. It would be great if we could go and meet in person, however we will show our good side here as well!!!

JH: To our overseas fans, thank you so much for sending us love from far away. We will work harder so that our love can reach far away.

DY: Many overseas fans who waited for us!!! Thank you always. We will come back with a great appearance, so please look forward to it!!!

H: We [have] never had [a] tour overseas, so we haven’t been able to meet many overseas Dreamin. If possible, we would like to meet this year!

MS: Thank you very much for always supporting us from far away!! I will become an even better artist in the future.
