MCND Makes Their Comeback Bolder Than Ever

“ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL”

On the occasion of the release of their latest album X10, the members of MCND gave several interviews. Castle J, BIC, Hwijun, Minjae, and Win return now, more determined than ever, offering an honest look at their goals. Far from the expected and standardized answers, the five boys reveal their ambitions.

The leader Castle J says, “I prefer to be honest […] I think it’s better to show my true self and be loved for who I am. So, I strive to live without shame, whether as Castle J or in my personal life.” The group demonstrates having made a real leap forward presenting a more mature view of the difficulties. Their title track “X10” depicts their passion for group work and conveys the message: “ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL.” The music video shows MCND forming a strong team ready to enter the game as characterized by the "Game Start" button. The warm-up period is over, they set off towards victory. Musically, “X-10” is a country-pop style song that recalls the opening notes of “Odd-venture,” the title track from their previous album of the same name.

MCND GOES ON THE OFFENSIVE

On May 21, MCND released their sixth mini-album X10 which includes five tracks in total. All the members wanted to get involved by participating in the writing of “T.O.P. Gang Volume 2,” each motivated to show their own artistic colors. During this interview, BIC says it was the most complicated song to write because Castle J wanted to deliver an aggressive rap that had never been performed before, which presented a real challenge. This cooperative work required effort but it was a good experience and they are proud of the result. For this title, Castle J contributed to the lyrics but also to the composition and arrangement. He also contributed lyrics to “X-Ten” and “Absolute Pitch.”

MCND AND THE CRAZY RUMOR

MCND officially stands for “Music Creates New Dream” but a rumor that this acronym was an abbreviation of “Mi Chin Nom Deul” (Crazy Guys) had been looming since their debut. A rumor to which Castle J responded: “Actually, it’s true.”He even adds that the original meaning is “crazy on stage.”
