Don’t Miss Out, Haeyoon Has Debuted Solo with “I miss you now”

Former Cherry Bullet member Haeyoon has released her solo debut track, “I miss you now.” The single and its video came out on July 28, marking her first song since Cherry Bullet’s disbandment. Though the group disbanded in April, Haeyoon starts anew in this new role with a song that suits her.

Journey to Solo Debut

Haeyoon first greeted K-Pop fans as a FNC Entertainment trainee on Mnet’s Produce 48 in 2018. Viewers knew her for her strong singing and leadership skills, something that would serve her well in her future roles as leader and main vocalist of Cherry Bullet. Though Haeyoon placed 19th on the show, she did not have to wait long to debut in a group. On February 21, 2019, Cherry Bullet debuted with the single album Let’s Play Cherry Bullet and its title track “Q&A.”

That September, Haeyoon and groupmate Bora participated in the vocal survival show V-1, a show where girl group members battled it out to crown the vocal queen. Haeyoon not only once promoted as an idol, but also as a musical actor. In 2021, she played Emilie Flöge in the musical Klimt: Into The Time of His Soul. 2023 saw Haeyoon and Bora back into survival shows with the VR idol competition GIRL’S RE:VERSE. Haeyoon participated as the character Nemo, a fish wishing to explore the outside world.

Cherry Bullet released three EPs, two single albums, and two singles before their disbandment on April 22, 2024. Haeyoon still filled her time with activities post-disbandment. In June, she held her fanmeeting Hello, 해윤 (Hello, Haeyoon). She continues to upload song covers on her YouTube channel, which she started in December 2023. Haeyoon also posts updates on her instagram account, @h.yoooni.

“I miss you now”

Composed and written by WDS and 영오 (05),  “I miss you now” is a soft ballad. Though its instrumental goes on gently, Haeyoon puts strength in her voice during the song’s climax. The song makes use of a steady stream of piano, which gets backed up with more instruments as the track progresses. A guitar and drumset also join in while still making the instrumental light.

The track plays to Haeyoon’s strengths as a vocalist. The vocals aren’t overpowering but she brings the sad emotion expected of a track called “I miss you now.” While Haeyoon only released a digital single, it seems like more music is in production. According to her appearance on Yoo Jaepil’s DolTABLE show, she will eventually release an album.
