A MONSTA MONSTA B-Sides List
“Y’all know what it is, man! MONSTA MONSTA! X, X, what, what, what! Okay, man! Let’s go!”
That’s right, today, we are talking about MONSTA X! Now, MONSTA X has been in the game for so long. Just like their title tracks, their albums and B-sides are always jam-packed. Picking only a few for this list was hard, but trust me, it was done. So, let’s talk about some MONSTA X B-sides that rock our worlds.
“Lost in the Dream” - THE CONNECT: DEJAVU
We are starting strong. On March 26, 2018, MONSTA X dropped their amazing album, THE CONNECT: DEJAVU. Not only is this home to my favorite title track, “Jealousy,” but it is also home to one of their best ballads, “Lost in the Dream.” This song makes you feel like you are levitating. In this track, you hear some of the most beautiful vocals ever, and the drums are highly present in the song as well. There is this iconic video of member Kihyun singing the bridge of this song during the promotion period of this comeback. The members are sitting in chairs, in a white room, and Kihyun is belting this bridge. Without the music, his voice echoes off the walls. It’s a gorgeous track that lives near and dear in many of our hearts.
어디서 뭐해(MOHAE) - Take. 1 Are You There?
On October 22, 2018, MONSTA X dropped an album we will never forget. Take. 1 Are You There? is a jam-packed album that features so many amazing songs. One song that I just had to talk about is, “어디서 뭐해(MOHAE).” This song is criminally underrated. The mixture of R&B and hip-hop makes a song that will have you swaying your hips. This is a track you will be playing on repeat. Everything about it is addictive. Personally, my favorite part is members Joohoney and I.M’s part. Their flow is immaculate and while listening you can’t help but move your head to follow the flow. Seeing this live is a goal of mine. It’s such a great track for those who love that added touch of R&B, and I recommend everyone listen to it.
“SOMEONE’S SOMEONE” - ALL ABOUT LUV (Extended Version)
On February 14, 2020, we got a lovely surprise from MONSTA X. Their fully English album, ALL ABOUT LUV (Extended Version) is a beauty in itself. I just had to add this song. This album was something different from what we normally got from the group. This more upbeat, pop, bright, and bubbly sound is completely different from the hip-hop, R&B, and EDM sound we are used to. In the song, the members talk about how we all want to be someone’s someone—how we all want to be loved by someone. How we all wonder if there is someone out there for us. The members are heard harmonizing with one another. We get to hear their beautiful vocals and sing along to the catchy lyrics. It’s an amazing song that should be talked about forever.
