SHINee’s leader is back with his first solo release in a year-and-a-half since Circle - The 1st Album.

He participated in songwriting on all six tracks, showcasing his talent as a lyricist. The title track “Beat Drum” tells a story of falling into someone’s rhythm and charm with the Korean title for the song being, “Charm.” ONEW puts on his rapper persona for this groovy track that stands out against the rest of the EP. In the video, ONEW is seen playing drums, as the song’s name implies, and walking through distorted hallways. The video features fun colorful sets and backup dancers as the choreography is a key point in this release.

“Hola!” is an upbeat song with soft vibes about being as carefree as the wind.

The third track, “Maestro,” talks about swimming through the ocean and getting lost in the waves as the “maestro of the sea.”

“Shape of My Heart” has a dreamy sound and perfectly showcases ONEW’s soft vocals.

The pre-release “All Day” is an upbeat track that makes light of the stress, procrastination, and exhaustion that comes from working.

The EP comes to an end with “Focus,” which many fans have expressed a desire to see as a live performance.

Throughout the EP, ONEW not only demonstrates his abilities as a vocalist and songwriter but also shows that he is able to execute any genre whether it be ballad, R&B, hip-hop, or pop.
